GoalPulse Privacy Policy

GoalPulse (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an unofficial football fan app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using GoalPulse you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and display name. You may also choose a favourite team and a custom display name within the app. This data is stored in our Supabase database.

Activity Data

We store content you create in the app:

Fan club posts and reactions
Match discussion messages
Watch party room messages
Match predictions (home / draw / away picks)
Bracket challenge entries

Device & Usage Data

We collect standard usage data through Firebase Analytics (crash reports, session length, screen views). This data is anonymised and aggregated.

2. Third-Party Services

GoalPulse uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Google Sign-In / Firebase Auth — authentication. Google Privacy Policy
Apple Sign-In — authentication. Apple Privacy Policy
Supabase — database and real-time backend. Supabase Privacy Policy
Google AdMob — advertising (shown to free users). May use your advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID) to show relevant ads. Google Privacy Policy
RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
OneSignal — push notifications. OneSignal Privacy Policy
Football-Data.org — match data source. No personal data is shared.

3. How We Use Your Data

Authenticate your account and keep you signed in
Display your posts, predictions, and badges to other users
Show a personalised leaderboard and prediction stats
Send push notifications for match reminders and goals (you can opt out in device settings)
Show ads to free users to support the app
Improve app stability via anonymised crash reports

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:

With the third-party services listed above, strictly as required to operate the app
If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. Fan posts, predictions, and messages are stored indefinitely to maintain community history. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Children’s Privacy

GoalPulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Opt out of personalised advertising (via your device’s ad settings)
Opt out of push notifications (via your device’s notification settings)

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security in our database, and OAuth 2.0 for authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
